NRA Basic Pistol Course
Course Overview:
The NRA Basics of Pistol Course provides students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed for safe and responsible pistol ownership and use. This comprehensive training covers essential firearm safety and shooting fundamentals.
Course Includes:
- Firearm Safety & Handling – Learn core safety rules and responsible gun ownership
- Pistol Shooting Fundamentals – Grip, stance, aiming, trigger control, and recoil management
- Ammunition & Malfunctions – Understand components, common malfunctions, and clearing techniques
- Loading & Unloading – Hands-on practice with modern pistol models
Upon completion, students will receive a certificate qualifying them to apply for a Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License (CWP). This course is also a prerequisite for becoming an NRA-certified instructor.

Ammunition Required: 100 rounds
Equipment Required: Firearm of your choice, ammo, eye and ear protection.
Rental firearms are available with advance notice and a fee of $50.
